Beauty Nut
I love makeup...and skincare and perfume and pretty much everything that has anything remotely to do with beauty. I went through phases as a kid-as many do, one day something is an obsession, the next you could care less if it existed, but I had my uber-girly phases where I played with those plastic toy makeup kits and wore dresses and big hats. I also went through a tomboy phase where the only things I ever had on my face were mud, tree sap, and bug bites (not the prettiest picture). My first true obsession with anything beauty related was lip balm, something that remains near and dear to me even today (ask my husband, he thinks I have way too many... as if that were such a thing). It started every year, right around September-my lips would get chapped. The burning, red, so dry they split and make you want to cry chapped. My mom had the Carmax in the white jar with the yellow lid and it would feel like heaven when I smeared that on. I remember her setting the jar on its side on the heater so it would melt and then reharden so you could use your finger without getting it all under your fingernails. After that I graduated to Smackers. The bane of my parent's existence as they would often find a tube or two in the dyer, after they melted all over the clothes. But I hoarded the different flavors-root beer float, strawberry, pink lemonade, Dr. Pepper, and on and on. I would save my allowance to buy new flavors and replace the ones I lost or were washed and they were my pride and joy. Even today I have certain flavors that are always in my stash, because you're never too old for that.
